about
This is my first solo piano composition that I’m putting out into the world.
It is inspired by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s psychological concept of "flow", a mental state of experience when one is totally involved in what they are doing and lose track of time, a concept similar to ‘being present’ or ‘living here and now.’
The piece uses melodic patterns from Turkish music that were imbeded in my mind.
